The Body
Stabilization Training Physical Therapy Program
begins with an evaluation by the Physical
Therapists, a mechanical evaluation and gait
analysis by a Registered Kinesiotherapist, and
instruction of alignment exercise program.
As a
general rule, patients attend sessions 1-3 times a
week, for 1 ½ hrs for 6-24 sessions. The unique
3-phase program encompasses:
1.
Manual Therapy
2.
Body Alignment Program
3.
Kinesiotherapy program to re-educate you in how to
move efficiently with relation to your posture and
body mechanics.
Education
in proper cardiovascular exercise and technique for
weight training encourages patients to get active
outside of therapy. We gradually progress patients
to a home program or
maintenance fitness sessions. Exercise technique and how
to apply concepts in daily routine, work
environment, sports and recreational activities are
covered in the program. Technique on how to apply
the concepts learned to any sport in which patient’s
participate helps decrease the chance of injury,
improve your injury level when they do occur, and
drastically increase your performance level. We
address all sports from backpacking, cycling, scuba
diving, climbing, running, golf, tennis, etc. as
well as all job descriptions (librarian, bus driver,
construction worker, surgeon, computer technician,
or flight attendant, etc).
